阿媽 ： 「 起身 啦 ！ 」
阿十 ： 「 我 個 名 叫 阿十 ， 我 有 四 個 家姐 、 五 個 哥哥 同埋 小狗 阿花 。
Ten: "My name is Ten. I have four sisters and five brothers, and I am buried with my dog, Fleur.
唔好睇 我 嗰樣 好 細 ， 我 已經 十 歲 架 喇 ， 啱啱 上 小五 。 」

阿十 ： 「 唉 ！
又 要 起身 喇 。 」
我 開始 喺度 諗 ： 「 如果 我 條 頸 伸 到 好 長 ， 噉 我 坐 喺 張 牀 度 ， 就 睇 到 好 遠 嘅 嘢 ， 我 咪 唔使 去 學校 囉 ， 我 都 係 小朋友 嚟 ， 唔使 去 學校 最 開心 ！ 」
I began to think: "If my neck is stretched out so far that I can see things far away from my bed, I don't have to go to school. I am a child, so I am happiest if I don't have to go to school! I am the happiest when I am not going to school.
「 如果 我 對 腳 好 長 好 長 ， 我 咪 行 一陣 就 到 學校 囉 ！ 」

「 如果 我 個 胃 好 大 好 大 ， 我 咪 食 到 好多 阿媽 嘅 飯 囉 ！
我 最 鍾意 食 ！ 」
「 如果 我 有 大 肚腩 ， 約埋 朋友 一齊 玩 ！
"If I have a big belly, I'll ask my friends to play with me.
佢哋 可以 喺 我 個 肚 度 跳 嚟 跳 去 ！ 」

「 如果 我 有 大 耳仔 ， 靠 對 耳仔 唔使 睇 ， 我 可以 靜靜 噉 聽 下 雀仔 聲 。 」
"If I have big ears, I can listen to the birds quietly without looking at them. I could listen to the finches quietly."
