كَانَ يَا مَا كَانَ في قَدِيمِ الزَّمَانِ

عَاشَ هُنَاكَ تَاجِرٌ ثَرِيٌ. كَانَ ثَرِيَّاً جِدَّاً لِدَرَجَةِ أنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ يَعْرِفُ كَمْ يَمْلِكُ مِنَ المَالِ. كَانَ لهَذَا التَّاجِرِ ثَلَاثُ بَنَاتٍ. اثْنَتَانِ مِنْهُنَ أنَانِيَّتَانِ ، وكَسُولَتَانِ ، و لَيْسَتَا لَطِيفَتَينِ ، لَكِنَّ الثَالِثَةَ كَانَتْ مُؤَدَّبَةً، وكَرِيمَةً، ومُحِبَّةً بِشَكّْلٍ لا يُوصَف.

كَانَ شَعْرُهَا بُنِيَّاً مُتَدَفِقَاً وعَيْنَاها خَضْرَاءَ كَبِيرَةً. كَانَتْ جَمِيلَةً وذَاتَ شَخْصِيَّةٍ طَيِّبَةٍ لِذَا سَمَّاهَا وَالِدُهَا "الجَّمِيلَة".

لَمْ تَرْغَبِ الجَّمِيلَةُ أَبَدَاً فِي إِغْضَابِ وَالِدِهَا. أمَّا أُخْتَاهَا، لَمْ تُفَكِّرَا إلَّا في المَالِ والفَسَاتِينِ والمُجَوهَرَاتِ.

هَذَا هُوَ السَّبَبُ أنَّ وَالِدَهُم أَحَبَّ الجَّمِيلَةَ أَكْثَرَ.

فِي إحْدَى الأُمْسِيَاتِ ، رَأَتِ الجَّمِيلَةُ فِي مَنَامِهَا أَمِيرَاً طَويلَاً و وَسِيمَاً بِشَعْرٍ دَاكِنٍ.

فِي حُلْمِهَا، كَانَتْ تَرْتَدِي ثَوبَاً رَائِعَاً و تَرْقُصُ مَعَ الأَمِيرِ.

فِي نِهَايةِ الرَّقْصَةِ ، أَعْطَاهَا الأَمِيرُ وَرْدَةً.

عِندَمَا اسْتَيقَظَتْ ، كَانَتْ لا تَزَالُ تَبْتَسِمُ وتَرْقُصُ مِنْ تَأثِيرِ حُلْمِهَا. كَانَتْ أُخْتَاهَا تُرَاقِبَانِها مَصْدُومَاتٍ وقَدْ شَعَرَتَا بالغَيْرَة.

مَضَتِ الأَيامُ، وذَاتَ يَومٍ، تَلَقَّى وَالِدُ الجَّمِيلَةِ أَخْبَارَاً رَهِيبَةً. دَمَّرَتْ عَاصِفَةٌ قَوِيَّةٌ جَمِيعَ سُفُنِ التَّاجِرِ؛ لَقَدْ غَرِقوا جَمِيعَاً وفَقَدَ كُلَّ ثَرْوَتِهِ! لَقَدْ خَسِرْنَا كُلَّ شَيءٍ يَا بَنَات! لَمْ يَبْقَ لنَا سِوَی هَذَا المَنْزِل. أنا آسِفٌ جِداً.

لا تَحْزَنْ يا أبِي لا شَيءَ يُهِمُّ طَالَمَا نَحْنُ سَوِيَاً. سَأدْعُو لَكَ كُلَّ يَومٍ لِتَعُودَ ابْتِسَامَتُكَ وحَظُكَ.

آمُلُ أنْ نَعُودَ أثْرِيَاءَ قَرِيبَاً.

بَعْدَ وَقْتٍ قَصِيرٍ تَلَقَوا أَخْبَارَاً جَيدَةً، أنَّ وَاحِدَۃً مِنْ سُفُنِهمِ لَمْ تَغْرَق. بَعْدَ سَمَاعِ الخَبَرِ تَوَجَّهَ وَالِدُهُم إلی المِينَاءِ بِسَعَادَةٍ.

لَقَدْ أُنْقِذْنَا علی الأَغْلَبِ. نُحْنُ أَثْرِياءٌ مَرَّۃً أُخْرَی! بَعْدَ أنْ أَبِيعَ كُلَّ البِضَاعَةِ مَاذا تَوَدُونَ أنْ أُحْضِرَ لَكُمْ؟

فَسَاتِينٌ وأحْذِيَّةٌ جَمِيلَةٌ !

مُجَوهَرَاتٌ ثَمِينَةٌ!

فَقَطْ عُدْ إلينَا سَالِمَاً مُعَافَی يا وَالِدِي العَزِيز. أنا لا أُرِيدُ شَيئَاً، لكِنْ إذا اسْتَطَعْتَ إحْضَارَ وَرْدَۃٍ حَمْرَاءَ سَأَكُونُ سَعِيدَةً جِداً.

وَدَّعَ التَّاجِرُ فَتَيَاتِهِ وذَهَبَ إلى المِينَاءِ. لَكِنْ عِنْدَمَا وَصَلَ إلى هُنَاكَ ، لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أنْ يُصَدِّقَ عَينَيه.

َانَتِ السَّفِينَةُ مُحَطَّمَةً و جَمِيعُ البَضَائِعِ غَارِقَةٌ في البَحْرِ ومَفْقُودَة. لِذَلِكَ ، لَمْ يَتَغَيرْ شَيء. لا زَالُوا فُقَرَاء. كَانَ الأبُ حَزِينَاً في طَرِيقِ عَودَتِهِ إلى المَنْزِلِ ، دَخَلَ الغَابَةَ دُونَ أنْ يُدْرِكَ.

حَاوَلَ إيْجَادَ الطَّرِيق لِبَعْضِ الوَقْتِ، ولَكِنَّه فِي هذهِ المَرْحَلَةِ ، كَانَ هُوَ وحِصَانُهُ مُتْعَبَينِ لِلْغَايَةِ.

فَجْأةً، شَاهَدَ ضَوْءَاً علی مَسَافَةٍ. كاَنَ الظَّلَامُ يَحُلُ ، لِذَلِكَ أَسْرَعَ واتَجَهَ نَحْوَ الضَّوْء.

ظَهرَ أَمَامَهُ قَصْرٌ رَائِعٌ. كَانَ قَصْرَاً تُحِيطُ بِهِ أضْوَاءٌ وحَدِيقَةٌ ضَخْمَةٌ. وكَانَ يَلُفُهُ شُعُورٌ بِالغُمُوضِ.

عِنْدَمَا وَصَلَ التَّاجِرُ إلى بَوَّابَاتِ الحُدِيقَةِ ، فُتِحَتْ بَشَكْلٍ تِلْقَائِي.

بَعْدَ مُرُورِهِ عَبْرَ الطَرِيقِ المَلِيءِ بِالأَشْجَارِ وَصَلَ إلى بَابِ القَصْرِ الذِي فُتِحَ أيْضَاً تِلْقَائِيَاً.

عَلَى الرَّغْمِ مِنْ أنَّ التَّاجِرَ لَمْ يَفْهَمْ مَا يَجْرِي ،لَكِنَّهُ دَخَلَ إلى القَصْرِ.

مَسَاءُ الخَيْرِ، هَلْ يُوجَدُ أَحَدٌ هُنَا؟

مَشَى عَبْرَ غُرْفَةِ المَعِيشَةِ الضَّخْمَةِ والغُرَفِ الأُخْرَى ، وسَأَلَ إذا كَانَ هُنَاكَ أيُّ شَخْصٍ في المَنْزِلِ.

فَجْأةً وَجَدَ نَفْسَهُ أَمَامَ مَائِدَةٍ مَلِيئَةٍ بَأَنْوَاعٍ مُخْتَلِفَةٍ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ والحَلَوِيَاتِ والفَوَاكِهِ.

لِأَنَّهُ كَانَ جَائِعَاً جِدَّاً ، جَلَسَ وأَكَلَ حَتَّى شَبِعَ.

تَجَوَّلَ بِرَهْبَةٍ في غُرَفِ القَصْرِ المُغْرِيَةِ ، بَحَثَ عَنْ مَكَانٍ لِلْنَومِ. وَجَدَ غُرْفَةَ نَومٍ جَمِيلَةً في الطَّابِقِ العُلْوِي.

حَسَنَاً لا يُوجَدُ مَا أفْعَلُهُ الآنَ. عِندَمَا يَصلُ مُلَّاكُ القَصْرِ سَأشْكُرُهُم علی كُلِّ شَيءٍ.

اسْتَلْقَى عَلَی السَّرِيرِ ونَامَ.

في اليَوْمِ التَّالِي عِنْدَمَا نَزَلَ لِلْأَسْفَلِ، هَذهِ المَرَۃُ رَأی مَائِدَةَ فَطُورٍ كَبِيرَةً و جَمِيلَةً أُعِدَّتْ لَهُ.

أَظُنُ أنَّ الحَظَّ طَرَقَ بَابِيَ مِنْ جَديدٍ، يُوجَدُ العَصِيرُ الطَازَجُ كذلك. لَكِنْ عَلَيَّ الرَحِيلُ الآنَ.

حتی إنْ لَمْ أَسْتَطِعْ لِقَاءَكُمْ ، أَشْكُرُكُم جَزِيْلَاً.

خَرَجَ إلی الحَدِيقَةِ وعِنْدَمَا وَصَلَ إلی البَوَابَةِ رَأی وَرْدَۃً حَمْرَاءَ جَمِيلَة.

سَآخُذُ الوَرْدَةَ لِابْنَتِي كَتِذْكَارٍ. سَتُحِبُها الجَّمِيلَةُ.

اخْتَارَ وَرْدَۃً. في الوَقْتِ ذَاتِهِ سَمِعَ ضَجَّةً خَلْفَهُ. عِندَمَا الْتَفَتَ حَولَهُ كَانَ هُنَاكَ وَحْشٌ!

كَانَ وَحْشَاً مُخِيفَاً بِيَدَينِ مُغَطَاتَينِ بِشَعْرٍ أَسْوَدٍ وفَمٍ وعَينَينِ كَبِيرَينِ وأَسْنَانٍ حَادَّۃٍ!

لَقَدْ فَعَلْتُ كُلَّ شَيءٍ لِأَجْعَلَ إِقَامَتَكَ مُرِيحَةً. ألا تَخْجَلُ مِنْ قَطْف هَذِهِ الوَرْدَةِ مِنْ دُونِ إِذْنٍ؟

أنَا آسِفٌ يا سَيدِي لَمْ تَكُنْ نَوَايَايَ سَيِّئَةً. لَدَيَّ ثَلاثُ بَنَاتٍ طَلَبَتْ إحْدَاهُنَّ أنْ أُحْضِرَ لَهَا وَرْدَۃً. قَطَفْتُها لِابْنَتي أَرْجُوكَ سَامِحْنِي.

إذَاً لَدَيكَ ثَلاثُ بَناتٍ.

نَعَمْ يا سَيدِي.

حَسَنَاً. سَأُسَامِحُكَ بِشَرْطٍ وَاحِدٍ. عَلَی وَاحِدَۃٍ مِنْ بَنَاتِكَ أنْ تَأتِيَ وتَسْكُنَ مَعِي طَوَاعِيَةً. إذا لَمْ تَأتي إحْدَاهُنَّ سَأُعَاقِبُكَ بِشِدَّةٍ.

سَأُعْطِيكَ أَسْرَعَ حِصَانٍ عِنْدِي. سَأَنْتَظِرُكُمَا بَعْدَ أُسْبُوعٍ. إنْ لَمْ تَحْضُرَا سَتَدْفَعُ ثَمَنَ وَقَاحَتِكَ.

التَّاجُرُ والذي أَرَادَ البَقَاءَ علی قَيْدِ الحَياةِ امْتَطَى الحِصَانَ وذَهَبَ مُبَاشَرَةً إلی المَنْزِلِ. شَرَحَ لِبَنَاتِهِ كُلَّ شَيءٍ حَصَلَ.

مَنْ مِنْكُنَّ سَتَذْهَبُ مَعِي إلی هُنَاكَ؟

لا أسْتَطِيعُ العَيشَ مَعَ وَحْشٍ. الجَّمِيلَةُ هِيَ المُلَامَةُ و عَليْهَا الذَّهَابُ.

نَعَمْ إنَّهُ خَطَؤُهَا الذي جَعَلَ أبِي يُصَادِفُ هَذا الوَحْشَ. عَليهَا أنْ تَذْهَبَ!

حَسَناً. حَسَناً! لا تَحْزَنْ يا أبِي. سَأَذْهَبُ طَوَاعِيَةً وأُنْقِذُكَ.

سَتَذْهَبِينَ بِسَبَبِي يا ابْنَتي الجَّمِيلَة. أنَا آسِفٌ.

لا تَحْزَنْ يا أبي ، سَيَكُونُ كُلُّ شَيءٍ بِخَيرٍ.

عِندَمَا وَصَلَا إلى القَصْرِ ، كَانَ كُلُّ شَيءٍ هُوَ ذَاتُهُ كَمَا كَانَ مِنْ قَبْل.

كَانَ هُنَاكَ نَارٌ في المِدْفَأةِ ، وكَانَتِ المَائِدَةُ مَلِيْئَةً بِالطَّعَامِ ، وكَانَتِ الأَضْوَاءُ السَاطِعَةُ مُضَاءَةً فِي كُلِ مَكَانٍ.

وبِمَا أنَّهُمَا كَانَا جَائِعَينِ مِنَ الرِّحْلَةِ الطَّوِيلَةِ ، جَلَسَا إلی المَائِدَةِ وتَنَاوَلا العَشَاءَ.

لَمْ يَمْضِ وَقْتٌ طَوِيلٌ ، بَعْدَ ذَلكَ تَوَجَّهَ الوَحْشُ إلى الطَّابِقِ السُفْلِي.

مَسَاءُ الخَيرِ وأَهْلاً بِكِ. اسْمِي الوَحْشُ. هَلْ سَتَبْقِينَ مَعِي هُنَا؟

نَعَمْ يا سَيدِي. لَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ تِلكَ الوَرْدَةَ. إنَّهَا لَيْسَتْ غَلْطَةُ وَالِدِي. أرَادَ فَقَطْ أنْ يُحْضِرَ لِي هَدِيَّةً.

إذِاً سَيُغَادِرُ أَبُوكِ غَدَاً، وسَتَبْقِينَ هُنَا وتُصْبِحِينَ صَدِيقَتِي.

في اليَومِ التَالِي غَادَرَ وَالِدُ الجَّمِيلَةِ

سَأَشْتَاقُ إليكِ جَزِيلَاً! سَامِحِينِي يا عَزِيزَتي.

سَأَشْتَاقُ إليكَ أيضَاً! أرْجُوكَ لا تَقْلَقْ. فَقَطْ اعْتَنِ بِنَفْسِكَ.

وَدَّعَتْ أَبَاهَا عِنْدَ بَوَابَاتِ الحَدِيقَةِ مُلَوِحَةً لَهُ.

مَرَّتِ الأَيَّامُ لَكِنَّها كَانَتْ حَزِينَةً لِلْغَايَةِ. كَانَتْ تَبْكِي كُلَّ يَومٍ.

في إحْدَى اللَّيَالِي وبَينَمَا كَانَتْ تَبكِي "مَاذَا سَأَفْعَلُ مَعَ الوَحْشِ؟ كَيفَ سَأَعْتَادُ علی هَذَا الأَمْرِ" فَجْأَةً ظَهَرَ أَمَامَهَا.

مَسَاءُ الخَيرِ. كَيْفَ حَالُكِ؟ هَلْ غُرْفَتُكِ مُريحَةٌ؟ هَلْ تَحْتَاجِينَ أيَّ شَيءٍ؟ طَلَبَاتُكِ أَوَامِرٌ

مَجِيؤكِ إلی هُنَا بِمَحْضِ إِرَادَتِكِ أسْعَدَني جداً . لَو أنَّك تُحِبِينَنِي قَلِيلاً . هَلْ هَذا لأنَّنِي قَبِيحٌ؟

كَانَتِ الجَّميلَةُ دَائِمَاً تُخْبِرُهُ الحَقِيقَةَ.

أنَا لا أُحِبُكَ ولَكِنِّي سَأَعْتَادُ عَلَيكَ.

فَقَطْ انْتَظِرِي وسَتَرَين. يَومَاً مَا سَأَجْعَلُكِ مِثْلِي، لَنْ تَرَي قَبَاحَةَ وَجْهِي، سَتَرَينَ طِيْبَةَ قَلْبِي. هَذا هُوَ المُهِمُ.

كَانَا قَدْ أصْبَحَا في الوَاقِعِ صَدِيقَين. عَزَفَا البِيانُو مَعَاً وغَنَيَا الأَغَانِي.

تَجَوَّلا حَولَ الحَدِيقَةِ وأَطْعَمَا الطُيورَ.

أَدْرَكَتِ الجَّمِيلةُ أنَّ الوَحْشَ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَبِيحَاً كَمَا كَانَتْ تَعْتَقِد. في الوَاقِعِ ، لَقَدْ بَدَأَتْ تُحِبُهُ.

في إحْدَى اللَّيالِي ، حَلُمَتْ بِوَالِدِهَا ورَأَتْ أنَّهُ كَانَ مَرِيضَاً حَقَاً. في الصَّبَاحِ التَّالِي؛ صَبَاحُ الخَيرِ. لَقَدْ رَأيْتُ وَالِدِي فِي مَنَامِي البَارِحَة . لَقَدْ كَانَ مَرِيضَاً جِداً. أَرْجُوكَ دَعْنِي أَذْهَبُ لِزِيَارَتِهِ لِمُدَّةِ أُسْبُوعٍ لَقَدْ اشْتَقْتُ لَهُ كَثِيرَاً. هَلْ سَتَسْمَحُ لِي؟

حَسَنَاً إذِاً. أُسْبُوعٌ وَاحِدٌ بِالضَبْط . إذا ذَهَبْتِ لِأكْثَرِ مِنْ أُسْبُوعٍ ولَمْ تَعُودِي، سَأَمُوتُ هُنَا. لا تَنْسَي.

أَعِدُكَ. سَأَرَاهُ و أَعُودُ فَورَاً.

إذِاً لِنَضَعَ مِيدَالِيَّةَ القَلْبِ السَّحْرِيَّةَ هَذِهِ حَوْلَ عُنُقِكِ. إذا تَمَنَيتِ وأنْتِ تُمْسِكِينَها بِإِحْكَامٍ سَتَتَحَقَّقُ أُمْنِيَتُكِ.

افْتَرَقَا علی هَذَا النَّحْوِ.

أُرِيدُ أنْ أَذْهَبَ لِرُؤيَةِ أبِي.

وَصَلَتْ مَنْزِلَ وَالِدِهَا. كَانَ أَبُوهَا مَسْرُورَاً لِرُؤْيَتِهَا حَتَّی أنَّهُ تَقْرِيبَاً شَعَرَ بِتَحَسُّنٍ فَورَاً.

لَقَدْ اشْتَقْتُ لَكِ جِدَّاً أيَّتُهَا الجَّمِيلَة !

وأنَا أيْضَاً يا أبِي.

لَمْ تَفْهَمَا أُخْتَاهَا مَا حَدَثَ وكَيفَ وَصَلَتْ فَجْأةً. كَانَتَا مَا تَزَالَانِ تَغَارَانِ مِنَ الجَّمِيلَةِ.

أَخْبَرَتِ الجَّمِيلَةُ أبَاهَا بِكُلِّ شَيءٍ. بِأَنَّهَا سَعِيدَةٌ الآنَ وبِأَنَّهُ لا يَجِبُ أنْ يَحْزَنَ مَرَّۃً أُخْرَی.

مَكَثَتْ لِمُدَّةِ أُسْبُوع ٍفِي مَنْزِلِ وَالِدِهَا دُونَ أنْ تُدْرِكَ كَيْفَ مَرَّ الوَقْتُ.

في أحَدِ الأَيَّامِ ، رَأتِ الوَحْشَ في مَنَامِهَا مُلْقَىً على الأَرْضِ. لِاعْتِقَادِهَا أنَّهُ مَاتَ ، أَصْبَحَتْ خَائِفَةً بِشَكْلٍ لا يُصَدَّق.

اتْضَحَ لَهَا أنَّهَا تَأَخْرَتْ يَومَاً وَاحِدَاً. شَعَرَتْ بِالذَّنْبِ لِأَنَّها لَمْ تَفِ بِوَعْدِهَا.

لَقَدْ أَخْبَرَنِي أُنِي لَو بَقِيتُ لِأَكْثَرِ مِنْ أُسْبُوعٍ سَيَمُوت. مَا هَذهِ الأَنَانِيَّة!

إذا حَدَثَ لَهُ شَيءٌ بِسَبَبِي لَنْ أَسْتَطِيعَ مُسَامَحَةِ نَفْسِي أبَدَاً.

قَامَتْ على الفَورِ بِتَودِيْعِ وَالِدِهَا وأخُتَيهَا ، وأَخَذَتِ المِيدَاليَّةَ في يِدِها ، وقَبَضَتْ عَليهَا بِشِدَّةٍ وقَبَّلَتْهَا وتَمَنَّتْ.

وَجَدَتْ نَفْسَهَا في قَصْرِ الوَحْشِ. كَانَ الوَحْشُ على الأرْضِ وعَينَاهُ مُغْلَقَتَان.

لَمْ تَعْرِفِ الجَّمِيلَةُ مَا عَلَيهَا فِعْلُهُ.

لَمْ يَكُنْ عَلَيَّ تَرْكُكَ وَحِيدَاً. أَرْجُوكَ سَامِحْنِي!

ظَنَتِ الجَّمِيلَةُ أنَّهَا فَقَدَتِ الوَحْشَ، ظَلَّتْ تَبْكِي. فَجْأةً فَتَحَ الوَحْشُ عَينَيه.

لَقَدْ أَدْرَكْتُ أَخِيرَاً كَمْ أُحِبُكَ.

هَلْ تَسْتَطِيعِينَ فِعْلاً أن تُحِبِّي أَحَدَاً بِقَبَاحَتِي؟

طَبْعَاً. لَنْ أُفَارِقَكَ مَرَّۃً أُخْرَی

إذِاً، هَلْ تَقْبَلِينَ الزَوَاجَ بِي؟

نَعَمْ. نَعَمْ.

فَجْأةً ظَهَرَ ضَوءٌ قَوِيٌ جِدَّاً وبَدَأَ وَجْهُ الوَحْشِ يَتَغَيَّرُ إلی أَمِيرٍ وَسِيم. كَانَ طَويلَاً بِشَعْرٍ دَاكِنٍ كَثِيفٍ.

آاااه. أنْتَ الأَمِيرُ الذي كُنْتُ أَرْقُصُ مَعَهُ في حُلْمِي!

لَقَدْ حَولَتْنِي سَاحِرَةٌ شِرِيرَةٌ إلی وَحْشٍ. الطَّرِيقَةُ الوَحِيدَةُ لِكَسْرِ التَّعْوِيذَةِ هِيَ أنْ تَقْبَلَ فَتَاۃٌ الزَّوَاجَ مِنِّي بِالرَّغْمِ مِنْ قَبَاحَتِي.

شُكْرَاً لِإنقَاذِي أيَّتُهَا الجَّمِيلَة.

لَمْ يَمْضِ وَقْتٌ طَويلٌ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ حتی تَزَوَّجَ الأَمِيرُ و الجَّمِيلَة.

أَحْضَرَا وَالِدَهَا التَّاجِرَ وأُخْتَيهَا إلى القَصْرِ كَذَلِكَ. عَاشُوا في سَعَادَةٍ أَبَدِيَّةٍ...
