Repeated actions in the past and future

There are a couple of different ways to express “again” in Mandarin.

Use 又 to talk about things that happened again in the past.

你又不听我说!

You didn’t listen to me again!

他们又吵架了

They had an argument again.

For things that will happen again in the future, use 再.

我们明天再去银行吧.

Let’s go to the bank again tomorrow.

Finally, we can combine 每 “each, every“ with 次 “time” to get 每一次 “every time.”

他们每一次让我生气.

They make me angry every time.

Of course, you can replace 一次 with any other “time” word.

我们每天看电影.

We watch movies every day.
