Change over Time
There are two main ways to talk about things changing over time.
The first is to use a set phrase: 越来越[adjective]
这个情况越来越好.
This situation is better and better.
你说得越来越慢了.
You’re speaking slower and slower.
The second is to use the comparison particle 比, which we’ll use first in a set phrase here and then go further into detail about later.
Essentially, we’re going to compare the present time to the past time. Use the pattern [time unit]比[time unit] to express “more adjective every time unit.”
他张的一年比一年帅.
He is more handsome every year.
我们一周比一周忙.
We’re busier every week.
