I tre amici escono dal Palazzo dei Normanni dietro alla guida e al gruppo di turisti.
Not far from the Palace, they walk to the San Giovanni degli Eremiti Church.
Non lontano dal Palazzo, raggiungono a piedi la Chiesa di San Giovanni degli Eremiti.
It is a church with red domes and oriental architecture.
Si tratta di una chiesa con cupole rosse e architettura orientale.
David tries to find an explanation for the numbers.
David prova a trovare una spiegazione per i numeri.
-So... now we have all the numbers.
–Allora…adesso abbiamo tutti i numeri.
First, let's put together the numbers that are alone - he says, as he writes them down.
Per prima cosa, mettiamo insieme i numeri che sono da soli –dice, mentre li scrive.
-Then, I'll write another line with the others.
–Poi, scrivo un'altra riga con gli altri.
David copied all the numbers into his notebook.
David ha copiato tutti i numeri nella sua agendina.
In one line he has the separated numbers and in another line he has the remaining numbers.

Marta, who is a scientist, has a keen eye for numbers.

-They make sense!
–Hanno senso!

Marta writes the numbers that have not been separated again, from left to right.
Marta scrive di nuovo i numeri che non sono separati, da sinistra a destra.
She writes them in the order in which they were found: Venice, Bologna, Rome and Palermo.
Li scrive nell'ordine in cui si trovano: Venezia, Bologna, Roma e Palermo.
-They are coordinates!
–Sono coordinate!
Tony, the archaeologist, confirms this.

-It's true!

But we still don't know what the digits mean, the numbers that are on their own... Hang on... Oh yes!
Però non sappiamo ancora che cosa significano le cifre, i numeri che stanno da soli… Un momento… Ma sì!
-What's going on?

-asks Marta.

Tony tries to explain himself.
Tony prova a spiegarsi.
He never liked explaining anything to anyone, even though he was always good at it.
A lui non è mai piaciuto spiegare niente a nessuno, anche se ha sempre saputo farlo bene.
-We have two lines of numbers.
–Abbiamo due linee di numeri.
One with eight numbers, and we do not know what they represent.
Una, con otto numeri che non sappiamo cosa rappresentano.
The other, with coordinates.
L'altra, con delle coordinate.
-Yes -David and Marta say in unison.
–Sì –dicono all'unisono David e Marta.
-I know those coordinates.
–Quelle coordinate le conosco.
-What?
–Cosa?
-I worked there.
–Ho lavorato lì.
The coordinates are for a place in Swansea.
