"Listen to me, Sahib," said Abdullah Khan, the larger and wilder of the two; "either you cooperate quietly now, or we will have to silence you forever.
the|matter|is|much|too|important|as|that|we|ourselves|long|ponder|could
The matter is far too important for us to deliberate for long.

You must surrender to us body and soul upon your oath on the Christian cross, or we will throw your corpse into the fortress ditch tonight and join our brothers in the rebel army.

but|the|Sikh|knows|the|Englishman|and|the|Englishman|knows|the|Sikh
But the Sikh knows the Englishman and the Englishman knows the Sikh.
so|hear|then|what|I|you|to|to say|have|in|the|northern|provinces|lives|a|Raja|who|great|wealth|possesses|although|his|land|only|small|is
So listen to what I have to say to you: In the northern provinces lives a Rajah who possesses great wealth, although his land is only small.
much|is|from|his|father|to|him|come|and|more|still|has|he|himself|gathered|for|he|is|of|common|nature|and|accumulates|his|gold|on|instead|it|to|to use
Much has come to him from his father, and even more he has gathered himself; for he is of common nature and hoards his gold instead of using it.
as|the|riots|broke out|wanted|he|with|the|lion|friend|to be|and|with|the|tiger|with|the|sepoy|and|with|the|Englishman
When the riots broke out, he wanted to be friends with the lion and with the tiger – with the sepoy and with the Englishman.
soon|seemed|it|him|however|that|it|with|the|white|man|to|end|go|for|one|heard|in the|whole|country|only|of|the|defeat|and|the|death|of the|Europeans
Soon, however, it seemed to him that it was the end for the white man, for all over the country one only heard of the defeat and death of the Europeans.
the|Nasah|but|was|cautious|he|made|his|plans|so|that|him|what|also|ever|come|might|at least|the|half|of|his|riches|remain|had to
But the Nasah was cautious; he made his plans in such a way that, no matter what might come, at least half of his wealth had to remain.

In Worcestershire, a person's life is considered sacred and inviolable; but one sees things quite differently when fire and murder rage all around and one has become accustomed to encountering death at every corner.

However, when he managed to gain entry there the next day, he could find no trace of Achmet.
