这 晚上 ， 管祠 的 老头子 也 意外 的 和 气 ， 请 他 喝茶 ； 阿Q 便 向 他 要 了 两个 饼 ， 吃 完 之后 ， 又 要 了 一支 点 过 的 四两 烛 和 一个 树 烛台 ， 点 起来 ， 独自 躺 在 自己 的 小 屋里 。
On this night, the old man who was in charge of the ancestral hall was unexpectedly kind and invited him to have tea. Q asked him for two cakes, and after eating them, he asked for a lighted candle and a tree candlestick, lit them up, and lay down alone in his own hut.

庵 和 春天 时节 一样 静 ， 白 的 墙壁 和 漆黑 的 门 。
他 想 了 一想 ， 前去 打 门 ， 一只 狗 在 里面 叫 。
On second thought, he went to the door and a dog barked inside.
他 急急 拾 了 几块 断砖 ， 再上去 较为 用力 的 打 ， 打 到 黑 门上 生出 许多 麻点 的 时候 ， 才 听 得 有人 来 开门 。
He hastily picked up a few broken bricks, and went up and struck harder, and it was not until many pockmarks had formed on the black door that he heard any one come to open it.
阿Q 连忙 捏 好 砖头 ， 摆开 马步 ， 准备 和 黑狗 来 开战 。

那 还是 上午 的 事 。

赵 秀才 消息 灵 ， 一 知道 革命党 已 在 夜间 进城 ， 便 将 辫子 盘 在 顶上 ， 一早 去 拜访 那 历来 也 不 相能 的 钱 洋鬼子 。
As soon as he realized that the revolutionaries had entered the city during the night, he put his braid on top of his head and went to pay a visit to the moneyed foreign devils, who had never been able to get along with him.
这是 “ 咸与维新 ” 的 时候 了 ， 所以 他们 便 谈 得 很 投机 ， 立刻 成 了 情投意合 的 同志 ， 也 相约 去 革命 。

尼姑 待 他们 走后 ， 定 了 神来 检点 ， 龙牌 固然 已经 碎 在 地上 了 ， 而且 又 不见 了 观音 娘娘 座前 的 一个 宣德 炉 。
After the nuns had left, they came to their senses to inspect the dragon tablet and found that the dragon tablet had been broken on the ground and a Xuande furnace in front of the seat of Goddess of Mercy had disappeared.
这 事 阿Q 后来 才 知道 。
Q didn't know this until later.
他 颇 悔 自己 睡着 ， 但 也 深怪 他们 不 来 招呼 他 。
He regretted that he had fallen asleep, but he also blamed them for not coming to beckon him.
他 又 退一步 想道 ：

第八章 不准 革命
未庄 的 人心 日见 其 安静 了 。
据 传来 的 消息 ， 知道 革命党 虽然 进 了 城 ， 倒 还 没有 什么 大 异样 。

知县 大老爷 还是 原官 ， 不过 改称 了 什么 ， 而且 举人 老爷 也 做 了 什么 —— 这些 名目 ， 未庄 人 都 说 不 明白 —— 官 ， 带兵 的 也 还是 先前 的 老 把 总 。
The magistrate is still the same as before, but he has changed his title to something, and the scholar-advocate has become something - all these names are incomprehensible to the people of Mizuho - an official, and the leader of the army is still the same as the old general.
只有 一件 可怕 的 事 是 另 有 几个 不好 的 革命党 夹 在 里面 捣乱 ， 第二天 便 动手 剪 辫子 ， 听说 那 邻村 的 航船 七斤 便 着 了 道 儿 ， 弄 得 不 像 人 样子 了 。
The only horrible thing was that a few bad revolutionaries got in the way, and the next day, they started to cut off the pigtails, and I heard that the boat from a neighboring village, Chik Kam, was caught in the act, and he was made to look like a human being.
但 这 却 还 不算 大 恐怖 ， 因为 未庄 人 本来 少 上城 ， 即使 偶有 想 进城 的 ， 也 就 立刻 变 了 计 ， 碰不着 这 危险 。

阿Q 本 也 想 进城 去 寻 他 的 老朋友 ， 一 得 这 消息 ， 也 只得 作罢 了 。

但 未庄 也 不能 说 是 无 改革 。
But neither can Fukujo be said to be free of reforms.
几天 之后 ， 将 辫子 盘 在 顶上 的 逐渐 增加 起来 了 ， 早经 说 过 ， 最先 自然 是 茂 才 公 ， 其次 便是 赵 司晨 和 赵 白眼 ， 后来 是 阿Q 。
After a few days, the number of people who wore their pigtails on their heads gradually increased. As I said earlier, the first one was naturally Maocai Gong, followed by ZHAO SiChen and ZHAO Baieye, and then AQ.
倘在 夏天 ， 大家 将 辫子 盘 在 头顶 上 或者 打 一个 结 ， 本 不算什么 稀奇事 ， 但 现在 是 暮秋 ， 所以 这 “ 秋行夏令 ” 的 情形 ， 在 盘 辫家 不能不 说 是 万分 的 英断 ， 而 在 未庄 也 不能 说 无 关于 改革 了 。

他 在 街上 走 ， 人 也 看 他 ， 然而 不说 什么 话 ， 阿Q 当初 很 不快 ， 后来 便 很 不平 。
As he walked along the street, people looked at him but did not say anything. Q was very unhappy at first, but later he became very dissatisfied.
他 近来 很 容易 闹脾气 了 ； 其实 他 的 生活 ， 倒 也 并不比 造反 之前 反 艰难 ， 人见 他 也 客气 ， 店铺 也 不 说 要 现钱 。
Lately he has become very easy to lose his temper; in fact, his life is not as hard as it was before the revolt, and people are polite to him, and he does not ask for money in stores.
而 阿Q 总 觉得 自己 太 失意 ： 既然 革了 命 ， 不 应该 只是 这样 的 。
