Mark is sick

Mark is 10 years old and he lives in Irvine. Mark wakes up every day at 7 o'clock for school. Today Mark is not well. Mark's mum, Sally takes his temperature because he is very hot. His temperature is 39. He has a fever. She is very worried.

Sally calls the GP to make an appointment. The receptionist makes an appointment for Mark at 14.00 Sally also calls the school to tell the teacher Mark can't come to school today.

At 14.00 Sally takes Mark to the GP. The doctor gives Mark a check-up. She listens to his chest. She tells Sally he has a chest infection and gives him a prescription for antibiotics. She tells Sally not to worry that Mark will feel better in a few days. Sally goes to the pharmacy to get the medicine.

Mark stays in bed for 3 days. He sleeps a lot and Sally brings him his medicine and hot drinks.

After 5 days Mark feels much better. He is very happy he can go back to school now and play with his friends.
