Evangelium secundum Marcum, Marcum, Capitulum 16

Marcum, Capitulum 16

Erat quippe magnus valde.

1 And when the sabbath had passed, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices to come and anoint Jesus. 2 And very early in the morning of the first day of the week, they came to the sepulchre, when the sun had risen. 3 Et dicebant ad invicem : Quis revolvet nobis lapidem ab ostio monumenti ? 3 And they said one to another: Who will roll back the stone for us from the door of the sepulchre? 4 Et respicientes viderunt revolutum lapidem. 4 And looking up, they saw the stone rolled back. Erat quippe magnus valde. For he was very great. 6 Who says to them: Be not alarmed: you seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified: he is risen, he is not here, behold the place where they laid him.

12 And after this he was shown in another form to two of them walking, as they were going into the country. At last he appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not those who had seen him after he had risen. 16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. But those who believe will follow these signs: in my name they will cast out devils, they will speak with new tongues. They will take up serpents.

19 And indeed the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word by the signs that followed.
