I met a hedgehog hare and said:
- All you are good, hedgehog, only your legs are crooked.
The hedgehog got angry and said:
- Why are you laughing; my crooked legs rather your straight run.
Here let me just go home, and then let's run to race!
The hedgehog went home and tells his wife:
- I argued with the hare: we want to run a race!
Yezhov’s wife and says:
- You must be crazy!
Where do you run with a hare?
His legs are fast, and yours are crooked and dull.
And the hedgehog says:
“His legs are fast, and my mind is fast.”
Only you do what I command.
Let's go to the field.
Here they came to the hare on the plowed field; hedgehog and says to his wife:
“Hide yourself at this end of the furrow, and the hare and I will run from the other end; as he scatters, I will return; and how you will come running to your end, go out and say: "But I have been waiting for a long time."
He will not recognize you from me - he will think that it is me.
Ezhov wife hid in the furrow, and the hedgehog with a hare ran from the other end.
As the hare fled, the hedgehog came back and hid in the furrow.
The hare rode to the other end of the furrow: look!
- and the hedgehog wife is already sitting there.
She saw a hare and tells him:
- And I've been waiting for a long time!
The hare did not recognize the hedgehog's wife from a hedgehog and thinks: "What a miracle!
How did he overtake me?
“Well,” he says, “let's run again!”
- Come on!
The hare started back, ran to the other end: look!
- and the hedgehog is already there, and he says:
- Eh, brother, you are only now, and I have been here for a long time.
"What a miracle!
- the hare thinks, - as I jumped very fast, and everything he overtook me. "
“Well, let’s run again, now you won’t overtake.”
- Let's run!
A hare galloped around, that was the spirit: Look!
- hedgehog in front sits and waits.
And so the hare galloped from end to end until it was exhausted.
The hare obeyed and said that he would never argue forward.
