I´m reading this in a book. I’m trying to make sense of the sentence. As I see it, there is 1 subject and 2 objects:

  • Belle
  • haar rotzooi
  • het liefste

I don’t understand how the third is involved in the sentence… “liefste” translates roughly to “lovely”, but, What exactly is the author calling lovely? Belle? her mess? or the fact that is was all over the place?

“Belle haar rotzooi het liefste overal liet slingeren”

Je kunt de zin wat anders formuleren, om dingen duidelijker te maken:

Belle laat haar rotzooi slingeren. (Ze laat overal haar dingen liggen).
‘het liefste’ geeft aan dat ze dit graag doet, ze houdt dus niet van opruimen.

‘Het liefste drink ik thee’. (Dus ik houd minder van koffie).
Ik speel het liefste voetbal. (Dus ik houd niet zo van tennis).

Ik hoop dat dit het duidelijker maakt.
