Was bedeutet das? "Es drückt einen fast weg!"

Was bedeutet das? “Es drückt einen fast weg!”

This is from one of my podcasts. In this case you need context to understand it :wink:

I’ve found the text and here it is related to the wind. The wind is so strong that is pushes you away.

wegdrücken = to push away

Vielen Dank, Vera, Someone had translated this as “It will blow you away.” Which in English can mean something completely unrelated to the “wind.” That is why I asked for the clarity. In English slang, “It will blow you away” can mean “It is awesome, you won’t believe it till you see it” “It is totally amazing!” and so on. I guess the translation was OK if it referred to the “wind” blowing one away??? Thanks again.

I perfectly understand why you were confused by this translation :wink:
