When I first heard about the Radio Garden website a few months ago, I sampled about 300 Italian radio stations…

60% of the Italian radio stations had music with lyrics in English.

35% of the Italian radio stations had music with lyrics in Italian.

Only about 5% of the Italian radio stations were talk / spoken word.

I created an HMTL file with links to the radio stations that were talk / spoken word, as well as a few of the stations where there is a lot of talking in between the music.

Radio Garden also displays the website for each radio station, so for the radio station websites that allow you to listen to the live broadcast, I created another HTML file with links to the radio station websites that I am interested in.

I also checked out Radio Garden’s coverage of cities where I have lived and am familiar with the radio stations. I discovered that Radio Garden does not include most of the radio stations.

I think that Radio Garden would be a good resource for people that are interested in learning English, but I have not been using it lately for Italian. Since I like watching interviews / conversations in Italian, I look for interesting channels on YouTube that also have a website where I can watch the videos without ads. For radio stations, I prefer to use the websites where they show the schedule and what I am currently listening to.

So I use Radio Garden (as well as YouTube) to find interesting websites for Italian.
