わから なく なって しまった

「もし 、今 いる 駅 が わからなくなってしまった 場合 は 、

。。。」

わからない+なる+ Ｘ → わからなくなって+Ｘ これは正しいですか？

「もし 、電車 を 間違えて しまった 場合 は 、。。。」

そして、‘しまった’ は 何ですか？

Not a native speaker, but my interpretation is that ‘しまった’ conveys the speakers regret in having done an action. なって attaches an “emerging” quality to an action.

わからない = I do not know
わからない + なって = I have come to not know
わからない + なって+ しまった = Regrettably, I have come to not know

今 いる 駅 が わからなくなってしまった = Regrettably, I have come to not know the current location of the station.

わからない–>> I don’t know.
わからなくなってしまった–>> (I knew it before, but now） I have come to not know.

パスワードがわからなくなってしまった。 (I knew my password before, but now） I have come to not know it.
自分がわからなくなってしまった。 (I knew how I was before, but now） I have come to not know it.
教会がどうなってしまったのかわからなくなってしまった。(I knew the Church before, but now） I have come to not know it.
