For example
If Japanese people break wind in public they feign ignorance.

People living in Tokyo seem to feign ignorance.
People living in Tokyo don’t speak a lot (so I can not imagine what they are thinking of.)

PS
I am not sure.
Please wait for the author’s answer.

Thanks again, dillemme.

Hi. This is Ken.

「すましてる」means “pretend to be cool”. 「感じ」means seems like. So すましてる感じ means “Seem like pretend to be cool.”

Thank you very much, kenosaka san. I am happy to know the autor’s answer.

Although I live in Tokyo, I don’t think I pretend to be cool.

Thank you, Ken.

Haha! Dillemme, as I mentioned it’s a stereotypical idea. Maybe it’s also means Tokyoites are sophisticated and Osakans are too casual (or barbarians? lol). Sort of a joke.
