I think it was in the past? The scrolling text with highlighting of current sentence being played as audio? The new playback control bar does not have a button to enter that mode, I think? The button (and the mode) is still there in the web version though.
If I have well understood, you need to click the black bar above the buttons. That opens the “karaoke”.

Yes, as @davideroccato wrote, the Karaoke mode is still available on the app too and you can still access it.

thanks for the answer (both of you!) - I feel like it could be a good idea to indicate the fact that the controls box is “draggable” upwards/reveals the “karaoke mode”, e.g. with a typical draggable horizontal line, like the one at the bottom of iPhone’s screen, etc. 
The 5.3.4 version adds a button to access karaoke mode without swiping/using the black bar.
