Coins not gained from listening outside LingQ

Amazing! I'll give that a go, thank you!

-- I want to make sure that my listening time is being counted.
-- If so, I'm not. If not... why?
The other participants want to be sure you're not cheating just adding the numbers. So that's up to you to find a way to import the audio. Or else the challenges make no sens. You might as well just set the goals for yourself in MS Exel.

Why would anyone cheat though? It's not as if the winner wins an actual prize, at least then I'd understand the concern. I'd literally only be cheating myself, so what would be the point?
I prefer e-books and audiobooks to YouTube or Netflix content, and while so far I've been able to find a PDF for the book I want to read (at my current level, anyway), the audio is invariably more difficult to find in a format compatible with LingQ.
So yes, if I can't find a way to import the audio from the sources I happen to find interesting and comprehensive content, then I will stop joining the challenges. The results are not representative of the work I'm actually putting in. Which is fine... like you say, I can set some goals for myself in excel instead.

Most "normal" people wouldn't cheat, but there are always people that seem to find some self-worth or something that makes them cheat. Even if there is no prize. They are at the TOP.
In most cases I don't think there are necessarily cheaters at the top of the challenges. I think there are a lot of cases of people who actually know the language to a high degree already, who are new to LingQ, and therefore end up racking up a lot of points from marking words known.
There is also one particular character almost always at the top of the Spanish challenges (fortunately not the latest). He/she would have a million words read overnight. He/she is not manually entering them, but it's physically impossible the numbers they were doing.

Exactly. Those challenges aren't too fair even without cheaters, so at least there's some proof that the listening numbers are real.

you can just go to any lesson and hit the plus button add 2k at a time, it counts for coins. People might abuse that

BTW...the listening points don't amount to all that much compared to reading and lingqing. I used to worry about it since I also do much of my listening outside the app, but the few times I would listen to something in the app produced so little points that I don't worry about it much anymore. But I certainly understand wanting them to count!
zoran

Yes, that's how it always worked. You don't get points for manually added listening time.
charrich87

That's a shame. Is there an easy way to import 'locked' audio? Like from audible or from another audiobook app, like Storytel for example?
arthurk1

Easy .. just use audacity and redirect output to input
