You have arrived in German if you understand "Werner" Brösel"

Hi, Freunde der deutschen Sprache!

You have arrived at learning German if you understand this without subtitles:

I watched this video from start to end without resorting to subtitles. My few impressions. German language seems like it is flowing on my subconscious mind. Picking up phrases like “mach klar” no issue for me. I knew they talked about some technicalities of the motorbike but missing out on the exact technicalities/details. I have had the same overall impression regarding missing out on the actual"gist" of their conversations. I will watch it again in 6 months’ time and see if there is an improvement. Definitely harder than watching dubbed TV, that’s how it seems to me. At what language level one should be at in order to understand their conversations effortlessly?

Hi, Asad!

In order to understand their conversations effortlessly I´d say you need a C1 level in listening comprehension.
The problem with this video is that they don´t speak “High German”, but use the pronunciation found in Northern Germany (here: Schleswig-Holstein).

Have a nice evening

Let us up the ante: if you can understand the lyrics of this song without subtitles, you will have arrived: Wadde hadde dudde da? - Official Musikvideo - TV total - YouTube
(my Scandinavian mother drew a blank even though she had lived in Germany for nearly 3 decades when this song came out)

Not fair! I barely understand lyrics to songs in English as it is, aber es geht leichtere beim zweiten Mal.

I think this would be the English equivalent:

Point taken! Lyrics are generally unfair: Misheard Lyrics | Peter Kay: The Tour That Didn't Tour Tour - YouTube
