La sfârșitul anului, în ultima zi a anului și în primele zile ale anului următor, în România există tradiția uratului. At the end of the year, on the last day of the year and in the first days of the following year, in Romania there is the tradition of the ugly. В конце года, в последний день года и в первые дни следующего года в Румынии существует традиция uratului. Printre cele mai cunoscute obiceiuri de Anul Nou sunt Sorcova, Plugușorul, Capra sau Ursul. Among the most famous New Year's customs are the Sorcova, the Ploughman, the Goat or the Bear. Poate cel mai cunoscut obicei, cel puțin mie, din copilărie, este Sorcova. Sorcova, cuvântul sorcova, înseamnă o ramură de copac, o nuia decorată cu tot felul de podoabe. Sorcova, the word sorcova, means a branch of a tree, a cane decorated with all kinds of ornaments. I mentioned here only these four, Sorcova, Plugușorul, Capra and Ursul, but there are many other local traditions, probably not so well known throughout the country, throughout Romania, but known in the regions where they are currently practiced.
