Hello,
Just a quick question- ish. Are the lessons with tutors only conversation practice, talking about general things or are they a lesson in french where you can transition from fluent reading to fluent recall of the target language by a structured speaking lesson. I have had a lesson or two and found off the cuff talking more difficult to do than recalling phrases from an audiotape.
If not does anyone have any advice on how to bridge the gap?

what language are you studying? it also probably depends on the toutor. And you can yous a lesson as a bassis of a conversation and talk about stuff in the lesson etc:
