Queering Identities: LGBTQ+ Sexuality and Gender Identity, 1.04 (R) Confidentiality & Constructive

1.04 (R) Confidentiality & Constructive

Confidentiality & Constructive Dialogue Guidelines Confidentiality Many of us taking this course are both directly and indirectly affected by LGBTQ+ issues. You may be or are closely connected to an LGBTQ+ identifying person. It will be natural to discuss personal experiences in the discussion forum. Please be sure to protect the confidentiality of others by not using real names, or any personal factors that could lead others to identify this person. Instructors will often provide questions for reflection within the videos. Please note that even if you type a response to these In-Video-Questions, Coursera will not save those responses. You will be encouraged to apply what you learn in your life and work.

Constructive Dialogue

Like any Coursera course, there are also discussion forums. Even though they are not "required," please consider doing them! Engaging with others is an important part of personal reflection. Your choices, values, and beliefs will often be different than other people you interact with and your fellow students. It is important to be respectful and engage in constructive dialogue. Disruptive or abusive responses to other's beliefs and values can result in dismissal as a learner.
