Importing PDFs / ebooks / word docs and keeping the same formatting + Request ( korean )

So , I’m super into Reading Movie screenplays / scripts these days. ( this is different Than reading subtitles from a movie or exporting subtitles from netflix… )

I Wanted to try to upload some Korean movie Scripts as a lesson. As you might ( or not ) know, scripts have a very particular formatting…

I’m just wondering what would be the bestway for me to import a korean movie script into a LingQ lesson and Keep the formatting as close as possible to the original?

The issue I’m having is Formatting. I don’t have super high expectations but I would Expect LingQ to at least keep the same type of word and phrase spacing.

I tried a uploading a PDF but the formatting came in all grouped together. Making it impossible to read as a script.

The best result I’ve had was to convert the PDF to an RTF file and then manually copy and paste the script into a new lesson. BUT still the formatting is not correct.

I’ll give a simple example
The Original Looks like something like this: (notice the spacing after the names… and double space between the lines of dialogue Why Can’t I keep this spacing importing or Cut/ Pasting into lingq? ):

Importing the PDF as ebook into LingQ came in like this:

Manually cutting and pasting from an RTF file has a better better result. but I wish it had kept the orignal spacing ( double spaces and more spaces next to names)

석우 (찡그리는) …….

So My Question would be do I need to do anything to my PDF files so that the formatting / spacing is better recognized by the LINGQ ebook lesson importer??

As far as request :

Please give us the capability to add BOLD text as well As Text Alignment ( left , center , right ). I guess an overall request would be for the LingQ import widget and or the Ebook import lesson option to recognize the The BOLD and text alignment per the original.

I know these options / capabilities aren’t exactly important to language learning But It would be nice if lingq was able to keep TEXT formatting ( ie bold text , and text alignment . The same as the source ). It’s just something I would like (selfishly) to be able to do. Especially since these are important visual cues for Script reading ( bolding shows dialogue VS unbolded text shows scene description).

Basically if the lesson importer had a bit more basic WORD document formatting options and be able to recognize that from the source automatically. That would be Great.

@keroro At the moment, will formatting be kept or not depends on the file you are importing. I have personally imported tons of lessons (PDF, ePUB, Word) and I do know that formatting is lost in some cases.
But not always. For example, I am importing the Mini Stories from Word File in most cases (by copy-pasting) and formatting is saved.
We are going to introduce new version of LingQ (5.0) in the near future, and it will include changes and improvements in the Reader too. All of these issues are already familiar to us, and we are working on improvements at the moment.

Not sure, however, if we are going to have bold text available, I don’t think we are going to do that.
