Just saw that Swahili was added!

Super cool to see the addition of Swahili to LingQ. However I was a bit surprised by no one really talking about it. I am working on adding Afrikaans myself I’ve gotten all the mini stories, dictionaries, and newspapers added. So all that’s missing is just a grammar guide but it shouldn’t take too long. Hopefully we get to see more African languages on LingQ soon. (:

A huge thank you to the volunteers and LingQ! Although I’m not planning to learn Swahili, it is great that LingQ added its first African language. I hope that Swahili will find its userbase. If someone worked on Chichewa, I would highly appreciate this

Ah, the coincidence! I used to know someone who spoke Chechewa a few years ago. But hopefully one day someone could add it. If you know any native speakers of Chechewa then maybe they could help you add the language on LingQ!

Thanks to the developers! Thrilled to have such a critical language. I hope we continue to get more materials for it

I actually know a fair amount of native speakers. At best they know someone who would be interested.

Definitely suggest you get in touch with LingQ support if you find someone willing to help add the language then! (:

Keeps us in the loop with Afrikaans! I have been looking to give that a go for a while.

Will do, we’re just on the grammar guide portion now. I hope we can get it done by the end of April.

Here’s hoping this is good news for more languages coming up like Hindi. I would love a Lingq collaboration with Indigenous communities to help get many of those on here. Cherokee for the US might be one of the most obvious ones as it has its own alphabet.

I’ve started doing some of these mini stories. It looks like only the first six stories are available.
