Where to find Russian e-books?

Does anyone know of good sites to find (buy and for free) Russian e-books to upload to LingQ?

Thanks
Halldor

Litres.ru is a great online bookstore that takes PayPal. You can download in multiple formats after making a purchase, and they remember what you bought so you can come back later for the same book if necessary.

I copy and paste into LingQ from sites such as http://flibusta.is/, which is a great big online library. There’s also Lib.Ru: Русская классика, and https://ilibrary.ru/, on which you can read the whole output of Chekhov, for example. You can also try other sites such as http://loveread.ec/, though be aware that some Russian sites appear to be somewhat fluid in their existence and offerings, e.g. one site (I can’t now remember which) allowed me to download Victor Pelevin’s Жизнь Насекомых free of charge (and c & p it into LingQ), likewise the same or another site gave me Омон Ра, but can I find these sites again now? I can’t. The links I’ve given here, though, should still be reliable. If you know what book you want, you can simply Google its Russian name plus читать онлайн and sift through the hits, bearing in mind (if my experience is anything to go by) that the best hit might be on page two or even further down the list. The other resource you really should get to know is https://yandex.ru/, the platform which seems to bring together everything that exists in Russia (although I should qualify this by saying that I haven’t used it for books. But it is the go-to place for e.g. films). Happy hunting!

Also take a look at litmir.me. They have a lot that is free for download or online reading.

Edit: I just downloaded what turned out to be an introductory fragment with a link to litres.ru to buy the whole book. Nonetheless, it was a significant fragment of 7 chapters, which is a nice bit of reading, and you can’t sneeze at free. I can’t say whether all the content on the site is like this.

I highly recommend www.e-reading.club/top100_rating_books.php?type=3

You can sort by rating and browse by book type and check books by certain authors. I just downloaded a couple years worth of reading here recently. BTW I think they may all be free too (older?). I’ve looked mainly for older stuff though.

also http://librebook.me/

Here is list only of classic book titles for kids, but a quick google search for the title will bring you to a free download:
