Persian - Text-to-Speech - Dariush

I’m able to use Apple’s text-to-speech on my iPhone and iPad by going to Settings–>Accessibility–>VoiceOver and adding the languages I want, and then going to the LingQ app at Settings–>Reader–>Voice and changing the text-to-speech used for those languages. But I’m not able to do this for the desktop/browser version of LingQ (at Settings–>Reader, the only options I see for text-to-speech are the LingQ-provided versions, rather than the Apple ones I downloaded). I’d really like to use the enhanced Dariush for Persian, since it sounds like real speech compared to the robot voice on LingQ–is there a way for me to select this voice for the desktop version since I prefer the larger screen to review? Currently, I have a Persian lesson open on both my iPad and the desktop version, and I work on the desktop version but need to listen to Dariush on my iPad. Any thoughts? Thanks.

At the moment it’s not possible to use those voices on the web version. We will see if we can add support for better quality voices in Persian on the web too.

Here’s a follow-up request: would it be possible to use device-provided voices (such as iOS’s Dariush for Persian) to generate lesson audio? That might be a way to make it available off-device.

We’ll see what we can do.

I second that. The persion text-to-speech sounds like a 60s robot bent on catching Dr. Who.

Thanks for the effort of implementing a new voice!
