Can we get support for the website tagesschau | tagesschau.de
It has so much content with CC. Can we maybe get the LingQ Extension to work for this website?
It would be so great to have Tagesschau here. I watch it often and you can find it on YouTube. Unfortunately they don’t include subtitles. So thank you very much for the link!
@MarkE, do you know the way to download subtitles from tagesschau.de? I’d import it manually for some tiem.
I’m able to get the subtitles, but its mixed in with coding. Usually I paste it into
https://subtitletools.com and it takes away all of the coding and just gives me the subtitles. But in this case it hasn’t worked for me. So I have to manually delete the coding in a word document. Then I can paste it into lingQ, super time consuming but it can be done.
But how do you get subtitles, even if with coding mixed in? I don’t understand where the script takes subtitles from.
Using Google Chrome.
Pull up this video for example
tagesschau | tagesschau.de
if you make a right click, it will give you the option “inspect”
(make sure you don’t click on the video click next to the video)
After you click “inspect” click on “Network”
Now play the video and toggle on the subtitles
Now refresh the page
play the video for a few second
then stop the video.
You are going to see a lot of things fill up under Network.
There is a little search window in the top left. Type in “untertitel”
once it pops up, double click it.
That works! Thank you a lot for this little tech tutorial)
Unfortunately, importing is time consuming indeed:
XML->Excel->Word->LingQ
MP4->MP3->LingQ
I made a new course Tagesschau: Login - LingQ
Hope the LingQ extension will be updated rather soon - manual importing is tedious.
I’ve contacted the developers. I think it should be fine (audio and text). Stay tuned.
Thanks, @MarkE! Now I can also manually import subtitles from tagesschau into lingQ, though it would actually be very useful to have the LingQ extension working automatically on that site as well.
Hey Eric any news for this website being supported?
Could you also look into https://tv.nrk.no/, please? It’s listed as “pending” in the file in the other thread. Thank you!
Tagesschau has changed its web-interface and therefore importing doesn’t work anymore. Hope LingQ team can fix that.
kind reminder
update 12/3/21: it works!
Our developers are looking into it. We’ll try to make it work again.
Great thanks Zoran!
Hi LingQ
Any progress with https://tv.nrk.no/ please as requested by Car2017 last year … ?
