So difficult to wrap my head around this but - are double negations in Japanese frequent? I see this in my Lesson 3:
あまり 難しくない もの を 選びましょう
The dictionary says that this would mean something like
“Not very not difficult stuff choose.”
There is no double negation here, the sentence could be better translated as “Let’s choose not very difficult stuff”
Japanese is full of strange grammatical construction (from slavic or indo-european language family point of view), so be ready

Ah, got it! I see now that あまり also has a “too much” meaning which fits much better into my understanding of this sentence.
Yes, so far this “wrapping my head around constructs” is the hardest thing, NOT kanji, not vocab, not writing…
