Why is ifrån used here instead of från?

Personally as a native speaker I don’t really see a difference when one is used instead of the other. I guess it is a personal preference, to be honest, I think från sounds better in this case.

I googled the question and I found out that there are as a rule of thumb three instances that you use ifrån instead of från.

  1. With verb participles, gå ifrån, ta ifrån, etc.
  2. With some compounds you use från and it comes at the beginning, like frångå, frånhända, frånsida, frånskild, frånsprungen, frånvaro, frånåkt, frångå (assume) and frånvaro (absence).
  3. With other compounds you use ifrån and the part comes at the end of the word, such as, bortifrån, därifrån, hemifrån, nerifrån, norrifrån, utifrån, varifrån.
