Hej då till Nässlorna blomma av Harry Martinson!

Ugh! I was really excited to read this book when I imported it into LingQ. But the language is so difficult, it is almost impossible for me to read it without a native speaker sitting in the same room with me. It’s just so metaphorical, and frankly, made-up. Half the words aren’t in any dictionary, or Svenska Akadamiens Ordbok. Most of my LingQ’s for this book are left blank, thinking that “I’ll come back to it later”. Except I never do. At the beginning, I was using a Norstedts dictionary, but that is just guessing half the time. None of the dictionaries on LingQ have helped. So goodbye to you, book!

On the plus side, I started Det man inte vet by Anne Lise Marstrand-Jorgensen. It’s a Danish book translated into Swedish. Simple, easy, modern language when compared to Harry Martinson!

Sheesh!
