I need help with "Pero" and "Su"

I am having trouble reading “Pero” because the translation on Lingq has the meanings of “but, yet, however” and “Su” has the meanings of “his, her; their; your, it’s” because these words have multiple means it is difficult to read Spanish text because I do not know which meaning to use for each word?

How does everyone else with a high level of Spanish deal with these words?

Gracias.

Hi! I would be more precise, although “but, yet and however” bring a similar idea, for “pero”: the exact translation is “but”, so I think that’s the choice you should rememeber. The exact translation for “yet” would be “aún” or “aún así”. However would be “Sin embargo”.
For “su”, just remember that it’s a possessive related to 3rd person, either plural or singular, feminin or masculin.

La casa de Juan: su casa
La casa de Ana y Marta: su casa
La casa de Juan y José: su casa

I wish I had seen this reply before I typed my own reply out in the other thread. ugh!

On a side note, I need to sign up for some speaking times at some point. I am getting tired to talking to pool boys, gardeners, and the girls at the deli.

Best place I would recommend for that is a website called www.italki.com i you can ask fellow speakers of Spanish to practise with and in exhange you can help with English I will start using it too at some point!
