Russian Women are the Best! :)

Hi LingQers,

I interviewed Russian women on the streets of St. Petersburg!

Do you agree that they are really feminine and gorgeous?

All the best to all,
Angelos

I fully agree, Angelos… Gorgeous and feminine!
Is it possible to have te Russian text of this interview so we can work on it in LINGQ?

Hi Ben! Of course, actually I have made the subs for this interview. You have to press the cc button on Youtube.

Hi Angelos, I guess the cc button is the button that makes the subs appear on the screen. But is it possible to download these captions in order to be able to import them into LINGQ?

Yes, I’ve got the subtitles and the translation all in one doc file. Send me an email to angelos@explorerussian.com and I’ll send you the file.

Click “more” and then “transcript”.

Here it the shared link. Please download if you want. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0ByvsVo52d5XzbXEzMDhoYzZ0b2RTR2dEOUJzcVVwOHhicDNv/view?usp=sharing

It took me ages this one… Can you make a lesson?

You can find a plug-in for Firefox that lets you download subtitles from Youtube videos that have them. I use it from time to time for importing text into Lingq just as you suggest. There may be similar plugins for other browsers.

Thank you for the link, Angelos! My idea is to remove the English and to present the dialogue in a clear way with the names of the persons speaking. And then import it into LINGQ as a lesson. If you give permission I can make it public, so that anybody using LINGQ can use it. Please let me know. I can also make it a lesson in a course, if there are more of these interviews to follow. I will give the lesson the name of the Youtube video: “Russian Women talk about Men, Dating, Marriage, Family, Values, Money”. And for the course I suggest “Dialogues from Angelos” or anything you would prefer.

Hi Ben. Thank you very much for this. Sounds good. Please go ahead. I’ve spent hours making all these subtitles. Great tip.

Here’s an old thread about extracting just the text from subtitle files: Cleaning Subtitles - Language Forum @ LingQ

Angelo, nice to see you here! I am subscribed to your youtube channel, and love your videos.

I did not know, you use Lingq as well.
