not a question, but an answer. Molho is normally sauce, but here …molho do espinafres, means a bunch of spinach. So it can be a bunch too, I think.
yes, we (in Portugal) say molho branco, molho de tomate, molho tártaro (meaning sauce)
and molho de espinafres, molho de chaves (meaning bunch)
The 2 words have different pronunciation depending on the meaning: molho /ô/ (“calda”) and molho /ó/ (“feixe”)
There are also some expressions with the word molho:
ao molho - in a confusing way
Tudo ao molho (e fé em Deus) - lots of people in a confusing way
aos molhos - in a great amount
“estar metido num molho de brócolos” - to be in trouble
“mas que grande molho de brócolos que aqui vai” - what a mess, what a difficult situation
de molho - in immersion _ “já pus o bacalhau de molho” molho /ô/

thanks for your help. can you literally translate the brocolos one? i.e. to be in a brocolli sauce? or am I getting that all wrong 
You cannot translate it literally, it wouldn’t make any sense in context, but in the expression “molho de brócolos” the translation of “molho”, pronounced [mólho], is bunch, not sauce.
