Sorry, I don’t understand what you’re asking. Are you confused about the reading of 隠される?

No I’m not confused about the reading

Please allow me to clarify my question.

If you go the to the lesson 日々の出来事(ひびのできごと), 日食(にっしょく) 2012å¹´5月12日 and listen to the audio transcript, you will get to a sentence “全部 隠される”. In the context of that sentence, the vocabulary 隠されるshould be pronounced “かくされる” .

However, if you create a lingq on the vocabulary, you hear the audio Login - LingQ

The LingQ audio is incorrect (at least in the context of the lesson). Whether that is an alternate pronunciation is moot (in my opinion). Contextually, I believe this LingQ audio should match the lesson audio.

Similar issue with:

I hope that clarifies my question.

Gotcha. Yeah, looks like it gives you the onyomi instead.

It comes down to the spacing being incorrect, which has been an issue for as long as Japanese lingq has existed. Might be better to go elsewhere for automated pronunciation. Forvo.com is also a good resource if you want to hear it pronounced by a real person.

Also, if you highlight the entire word (i.e 隠される not just 隠さ) then it should give you the correct pronunciation. You just have to know where words end and begin, without relying on the spacing on this site.

[UPDATE] Looks like someone (LingQ Support???) has gone in and updated the audio for Login - LingQ

Would be great if these fixes were logged/publicized in a change log.
