Examples with "come across as" and "be perceived as"

Hi! Could you please tell me whether the following examples are grammatically correct?

-Our actions may come across as extreme.

-We came across as extremists.
-Our actions came across as extremist.

-They came across as revolutionaries.
-Their actions came across as revolutionary.

-We may come across as more revolutionary than other politicians.

-Their decisions came across as reactionary.

  • We might come across as more reactionary than other politicians.
-We do not want to come across as lunatics.
-The guys came across as rough.

  • Our actions may be perceived as extreme.

  • We were perceived as extremists.
-Our actions were perceived as extremist.

-They were perceived as revolutionaries.
-Their actions were perceived as revolutionary.

-We may be perceived as more revolutionary than other politicians.

-Their decisions were perceived as reactionary.

  • We might be perceived as more reactionary than other politicians.
-We do not want to be perceived as lunatics.
-The guys were perceived as rough.

I find no problem with the sentences grammatically. It may be colloquial for me but the statement, “The guys were perceived as rough.” doesn’t sound quite right but is grammatically correct and would most certainly get your point accross in the Midwest United States.

“The guys were peceived as being rough.” may suit better but it could just be a matter of my english dialect.

Thank you for your reply! GregD

All are grammatically correct. Well done. I am from San Francisco, California, USA and more often than not I would personally use a form of “to seem” in lieu of a form of “to be perceived as.” The latter is wordy whereas the former is less so.
