Making introductions - Question

Hi everyone, if I’m at a bar or a club and surrounded by people around my age (in their 20’s/30’s), and I want to start a conversation with them, does it have to be formal or informal? For instance, can I simply say: Привет, как тебя зовут? Or do I have to say: Здравствуйте, как вас зовут?

Helo.

It’s better to say ‘Здравствуйте, как вас зовут?’. By using polite form you will be considered as an intelligent and respectful person. I assure you, though a formal beginning, that next what it will be said by your new friend it will be’ ‘You can call me informal’.

It depends on the situation.
In the bar you can adress to the peers, people of your age informally, like:Привет, как дела? Ты часто бываешь здесь?
But in the more oficial situation the formal beginning of the conversation sounds more politely.
And in the adressing to the people who are remarkable older than you I’d better use the formal way of speech.
