Can someone explain this translation? I believe it means 'this

Can someone explain this translation? I believe it means ‘this makes it easier to remember the new words.’ However the term ‘cela permet de se souvenir’ doesn’t make sense to me. It seems to translate as ‘this allows the itself memory???’ How does this work?

Thanks,

Jonny

More literally: “That allows [one/you] to remember new words more easily”.
“Se souvenir de” means “remember”, it’s a reflexive verb in French (meaning you say “remember oneself of”, instead of just “remember”)

I remember you. = Je me souviens de toi.
She remembers her country. = Elle se souvient de son pays.
We remember the house. = Nous nous souvenons de la maison.
They remember the past. = Ils se souviennent du passé.

That’s great! Thank you very much, that makes sense to me now
