I hear 고랑이. Is this right?

I think he is pronouncing it distinctively. To me it sounds clearly different from the 고 in the next word 고양이.

When first exposed to a language you may find many sounds not clearly distinguishable at first.
Your ears are so attuned to Portuguese sounds they need some time to get used to the different Korean sounds.

I say they’ll get better at distinguishing them as you get more exposure to them.

Now, with fresh ears, i can hear it better. It’s almost a [kh] because of the [h] being pronounced with the back of the tongue almost closing in on the soft palate, but the air still goes through. I’ll keep my ears tuned for a next encounter with this behaviour.
