what the word owner means?
If you have a cat, you are the owner of the animal, even if he/she treats you as his/her servant.
You can own a lot of things: a car, a house etc. If you own something, you are an âownerâ.
Example:
Yesterday I bought bananas. Before I purchased the bananas, the bananas were not my bananas. Before I bought them, they were not mine. After I bought the bananas they became my bananas. They were mine. They belonged to me after I bought them. The bananas belonged to me. = I was the bananasâ owner = I was the owner of the bananas.
In fact, this morning, I still have most of the bananas that I purchased yesterday.
The bananas belong to me. = I am their owner. I am the bananasâ owner. = I am the owner of the bananas. = I own the bananas. = The bananas are owned by me.
An âownerâ is a person or an entity that owns something or someone.
In the above example(s), âIâ was the owner. âIâ was the person who owned the bananas (the something).
I hope this helps.
