以前は文理のみのクラス編成、現在は文理にさらに私立・公立でクラス編成が成されている。どちらにしろ文系の方が人数は多い。しかし、人数の少ない理系の方がやはり理系科目に強く、個人で文系科目の補習・自習を密に行っているケースが多く、最終的に文系大学の指定校推薦を理系の生徒が持っていってしまう場合が多い。（現に3年2学期後半にはクラスの半分以上は進路が決まっている場合が多い）
In the past, classes were centred on both science and the humanities. Now, in addition to science and the humanities, in public and private schools, students can choose either a science or a humanities curriculum. In any case, the greatest number of students are attracted to the humanities. Nevertheless, although students in the science program are strong in sciences, they often take supplementary classes in humanities or do humanities as a self-study project. In the end, even students who are in the science program will often get recommended to liberal arts post-secondary schools. (At the moment, by the second half of the second term of their third year, the majority of students have already determined where they will go after graduation.)
