Import problem- line spacing

Since the recent update, when I import text, Ling strips the line/paragraph formatting so all the imported text is put into one big paragraph.

Also, word spacing is stripped when you past text in the title section.

Hi! I just tried this but it seems to be working properly. Would you link me to a lesson where this is occurring?

I tried to import this…

  1. Olga: Allora ieri sera siete andati a quell’osteria?
  2. Valeria: Sì, era tutto prelibatissimo, ma Tiziano era convinto che venissero
    preparati anche dei piatti per vegetariani…
  3. Olga: Vegetariani? Perché? sta male?
  4. Tiziano: No, no, ma non sai che sono vegetariano?
  5. Olga: …casco dal pero, è la prima volta che lo sento!
  6. Tiziano: Bhè, sì, sono vegetariano da 10 anni.

Interesting - in this case it must be where you’re copying this text from. Try copying the text from your forum thread here and pasting it into a new lesson (or the same lesson), and you’ll see that it seems to be working properly.

With the original source, can you copy the text from there then paste it into LingQ using the “Paste and Match Style” option in the right-click menu? The keyboard shortcut for a Mac is Command+Option+Shift+V. Let me know what happens!

I switched to Firefox and it’s working fine. I was using Chrome.

I see - I also use Chrome so I’m not quite sure what is causing it. If this also starts happening in Firefox please let us know - otherwise it might be something related to a Chrome extension or some settings in Chrome that are causing some formatting issues.

In any case, glad Firefox is working for this!

Right click, ‘paste as plain text’ works in chrome. (ctrl-shift-V)
