Entgegen

I understand all the word in this sentence individually including entgegen but I don’t really understand the whole sentence because of the entgegen in the end.

Die ägyptischen Medien fiebern der Präsidentschaftskandidatur von Verteidigungsminister al-Sisi entgegen.

Edit

I just look up the words fiebern and entgegen a little bit more closely and it seems to me that the sentence would be something like “the Egyptian media are looking forward to the presidential candidacy of the defence minister Al-Sisi”.

The verb “entgegenfiebern” means “looking forward with great interest/expectation”. So the word “entgegen” is part of a verb here (“Sie (die Medien) fiebern der Präsidentschaftskandidatur entgegen”). You could also say: “Die Medien warten gespannt auf die Präsidentschaftskandidatur”. I think, you can find out the meaning now.
