Your spelling is wrong. It’s: Auf Wiedersehen = au revoir (Fr), = Good bye (Eng)
By the structure it’s closer to the French: Au revoir or English: See you later!

“Auf Wiedersehen” is not necessarily meant literally. It is generally used when people separate from each other in a friendly way, no matter if they really expect to see each other again. It is rather used between people who do not have a very tight relationship with each other. So I wouldn´t say “Auf Wiedersehen” to my husband or my mother. In that case I would prefer “mach´s gut” or “tschüß” or “bis dann”.
