“vaya” might mean “ah! I see”, “Ok”, “this is great”, “how great!”. etc.
It is a very colloquial expression. Forget about grammar here.
Formally, it is one of the many forms of the verb “ir”, “to go”. And even sometimes it is used in that form;
for example, “que quieres?” and the other responds, “quiero que vayas.” This is a very different usage.
