__Cleobis Bitōnque erant fīliī Cȳdippēs. Cleobis and Biton were the sons of Cydippe. Cȳdippē erat sacerdōs deae Iūnōnis. Cydippe was a priestess of the goddess Juno. Vidēre magnam statuam Iūnōnis Cȳdippē dēsīderat. Cydippe desires to see the great statue of Juno. Sed procul est statua, et Cȳdippē nōn ambulāre potest; puerī bovēs nōn habent. But the statue is far away, and Cydippe cannot walk; the boys do not have oxen. Cleobis Bitōnque Cȳdippēn amant; ipsī igitur plaustrum tractāre audent. Cleobis and Biton love Cydippe; they themselves, therefore, dare to pull the wagon. Labor erat arduus, sed fīliī Cȳdippēs rōbustī erant. The labor was difficult, but the sons of Cydippe were strong. Cȳdippē statuam videt; tum Iūnōnī supplicat: “Ō pulchra dea! Cydippe sees the statue; then she prays to Juno: "O beautiful goddess! Cleobis Bitōnque bonōs mōrēs et virtūtem habent. Cleobis and Biton have good manners and virtue. Dā igitur meīs fīliīs optimum praemium.” Propter precēs Cȳdippēs Iūnō puerīs sine morā mortem sine dolōre dat. Therefore, give the best reward to my sons." Because of Cydippe's prayers, Juno gives the boys death without delay and without pain. Cleobis Bitōnque nunc beātī in perpetuā pāce sunt.__ Cleobis and Biton are now blessed in perpetual peace.
