Genesis 9
Genesis 9
Gênesis 9
Första Mosebok 9
Benedixitque Deus Noë et filiis ejus.
And God blessed Noah and his sons.
And he said to them: Grow, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
E disse-lhes: Crescei, multiplicai-vos e enchei a terra.
And let thy terror and trembling be upon all the beasts of the earth, and upon all the fowls of the air, with all that move upon the earth: all the fish of the sea are delivered into thy hand.
And everything that moves and lives shall be food for you: I have given you all things as green vegetables.
Excepto, quod carnem cum sanguine non comedetis.
Except that you shall not eat flesh with blood.
For I will require the blood of your souls at the hand of all beasts: and at the hand of man, at the hand of man, and at the hand of his brother, I will require the soul of man.
Quicumque effuderit humanum sanguinem, fundetur sanguis illius : ad imaginem quippe Dei factus est homo.
Whoever sheds human blood, let his blood be shed: for man was made in the image of God.
But ye grow and multiply, and come upon the earth, and fill it.
God also said this to Noah, and to his sons with him: Behold, I will establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you; they came out of the ark, and all the beasts of the earth.
Statuam pactum meum vobiscum, et nequaquam ultra interficietur omnis caro aquis diluvii, neque erit deinceps diluvium dissipans terram.
I will establish my covenant with you, and all flesh shall no more be slain by the waters of the flood, nor shall there be any more a flood destroying the earth.
Dixitque Deus : Hoc signum foederis quod do inter me et vos, et ad omnem animam viventem, quæ est vobiscum in generationes sempiternas : arcum meum ponam in nubibus, et erit signum foederis inter me et inter terram.
And God said: This is the sign of the covenant that I give between me and you, and to every living soul that is with you for ever and ever: I will place my bow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.
And when I will cover the sky with clouds, my bow will appear in the clouds: and I will remember my covenant with you, and with every living soul that grows flesh: and there will be no more floods of water to destroy all flesh.
And there will be a bow in the clouds, and I will see it, and I will remember the everlasting covenant that was made between God and every living soul of all flesh that is on the earth.
And God said to Noah: This shall be the sign of the covenant which I have made between me and all flesh upon the earth.
So the sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth: further, Ham is the father of Chanaan.
These three are the sons of Noah: and from them every race of men was scattered over the whole earth.
Coepitque Noë vir agricola exercere terram, et plantavit vineam.
Noah, the husbandman, began to cultivate the land and planted a vineyard.
Bibensque vinum inebriatus est, et nudatus in tabernaculo suo.
He became drunk with wine and was naked in his tent.
When Cham, the father of Chanaan, saw that his father's clothes had been stripped, he told his two brothers outside.
But Shem and Japheth put the mantle on their shoulders, and walking backwards, they covered their father's hides: and their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father's manhood.
Evigilans autem Noë ex vino, cum didicisset quæ fecerat ei filius suus minor, ait : Maledictus Chanaan, servus servorum erit fratribus suis.
And Noah awaking from the wine, when he had learned what his younger son had done to him, said: Cursed is Chanaan, he will be the servant of servants to his brothers.
Dixitque : Benedictus Dominus Deus Sem, sit Chanaan servus ejus.
And he said: Blessed be the Lord God Shem, may Chanaan be his servant.
Dilatet Deus Japheth, et habitet in tabernaculis Sem, sitque Chanaan servus ejus.
May God enlarge Japheth, and let Shem dwell in the tabernacles, and let Chanaan be his servant.
Vixit autem Noë post diluvium trecentis quinquaginta annis.
And Noah lived three hundred and fifty years after the flood.
And all his days of nine hundred and fifty years were fulfilled: and he died.
