Liber Psalmorum, Psalmi 61-90, Psalmus 062

Psalmus 062

9 Adhæsit anima mea post te ; me suscepit dextera tua. 10 Ipsi vero in vanum quæsierunt animam meam : introibunt in inferiora terræ ; 11 tradentur in manus gladii : partes vulpium erunt. 12 Rex vero lætabitur in Deo ; laudabuntur omnes qui jurant in eo : quia obstructum est os loquentium iniqua.

1 Psalmus David, cum esset in deserto Idumææ. 1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah.

2 Deus, Deus meus, ad te de luce vigilo. 2 O God, my God, I seek you; I watch for you in the morning. Sitivit in te anima mea ; quam multipliciter tibi caro mea ! My soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you! 3 In terra deserta, et invia, et inaquosa, sic in sancto apparui tibi, ut viderem virtutem tuam et gloriam tuam. in|||and||||||||||||your||| 3 In a desert land, and untraveled, and without water, so I appeared to you in the sanctuary, that I might see your power and your glory. 4 Quoniam melior est misericordia tua super vitas, labia mea laudabunt te. because|better|is|mercy|your|over|lives|lips|my|they will praise|you 4 For your mercy is better than life, my lips will praise you. 5 Sic benedicam te in vita mea, et in nomine tuo levabo manus meas. |I will bless|you|in|life|my|and|in|name|your|I will lift|hands|my 5 Thus I will bless you in my life, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 6 Sicut adipe et pinguedine repleatur anima mea, et labiis exsultationis laudabit os meum. |with fat|and|with richness|may be filled|soul|my|and|with lips|of rejoicing|it will praise|mouth|my 6 As my soul is filled with fat and richness, my mouth will praise you with joyful lips. 7 Si memor fui tui super stratum meum, in matutinis meditabor in te. |mindful|I was|of you|upon|bed|my|in|mornings|I will meditate|on|you 7 If I remember you upon my bed, I will meditate on you in the morning. 8 Quia fuisti adjutor meus, et in velamento alarum tuarum exsultabo. |you were|helper|my|and|in|covering|wings|your|I will rejoice 8 For you have been my helper, and in the shadow of your wings I will rejoice. 9 Adhæsit anima mea post te ; me suscepit dextera tua. |||||me|she took|| 9 My soul clings to you; your right hand upholds me. 10 Ipsi vero in vanum quæsierunt animam meam : introibunt in inferiora terræ ; 11 tradentur in manus gladii : partes vulpium erunt. ||in||||||in||||||||| 10 But those who seek my life in vain shall go into the depths of the earth; 11 they shall be given over to the sword; they shall be a portion for jackals. 12 Rex vero lætabitur in Deo ; laudabuntur omnes qui jurant in eo : quia obstructum est os loquentium iniqua. king|truly|he will rejoice|in|God|they will be praised|all|who|they swear|in|him|because|obstructed|it is|mouth|of those speaking|injustices 12 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by him will be praised: for the mouth of those speaking wickedness is stopped.
