A teď pověst o lampě v kapli svatého Václava. Karel IV, který nechal tuto honosnou kapli zbudovat, do ní umístil tři lampy, ve kterých nesměl vyhasnout oheň. O to se staral sakristián jménem Podiven.

Lamps in the church of St. Víta Welcome

Pokud navštívíte hrob sv. Beim Besuch des Grabes von St. If you visit the tomb of St. Jana Nepomuckého, můžete si všimnout, že nad ním visí zlatá lampa. John of Nepomuk, you may notice that a golden lamp hangs over it. There is a legend about her that she is not original and she was able to disappear whenever someone wanted to steal it. Jednou ale její zhotovitel zlatník upadl do bídy a sv. But once its contractor goldsmith fell into poverty and St. Jan Nepomucký se mu zjevil ve snu a radil, ať lampu vezme a roztaví jí na zlato. Jan Nepomucký appeared to him in a dream and advised him to take the lamp and melt it into gold. Das passierte dem Goldschmied insgesamt dreimal, also fasste er Mut, besuchte den Tempel, und dieses Mal verschwand die Lampe nicht, sondern fiel ihm zu, also tat er, was ihm geraten wurde. This seemed to the goldsmith a total of three times, so he gathered his courage, visited the temple, and this time the lamp did not disappear but fell to him, so he did as he was advised. He soon became rich, and as a thank you, he forged a new lamp, and when he wanted to return it to its place, he found that another completely intact was already hanging over the grave. But it immediately disappeared, so he hung a new one in that place, which is still in the temple. A teď pověst o lampě v kapli svatého Václava. And now the legend of the lamp in the chapel of St. Wenceslas. Charles IV, who had this magnificent chapel built, placed three lamps in it, in which the fire was not allowed to go out. O to se staral sakristián jménem Podiven. Dafür sorgte ein Mesner namens Podiven. A sacristian named Podiven took care of that. After the death of Charles IV, Archbishop Očko z Vlašimi had two more lamps added to the chapel - one for the salvation of Charles' soul and the other for the Czech people. He wondered about them, but when his wife fell ill, he forgot. In the morning, however, he found that all the lamps shone brightly, except for the one under Charles IV. This was the case as long as his wife was ill, from which he confided in a keychain who stayed in the temple for the night and saw the chapel ceiling disappear at midnight, and a figure descended from the starry sky as if entwined in the sun's rays by Charles IV himself, lamp oil except that which belonged to him.
