Definitions In Sentence Mode Automatically Displayed

Has there been an update to the web version of LingQ overnight or something? I can’t figure out how to turn these automatic definitions off in sentence mode. I want to be able to test myself as I read and then make the choice of looking at a definition if necessary.

The same thing is happening to me and it is ruining the experience for me.

Oh thanks for confirming that it’s not just me.

When I use the mobile app it doesn’t show up for me, you might be able to get around it by using the app.

Yes, it shows the translations by default now. We’ll see if we can add an option to disable it.

thank you! it is distracting

I have a complicated system of macros to show sentences in two languages and audio for each sentence. This could be built in for a specific key. Make all aspects options please. Those using LingQ for extensive reading may want a very different display of sentences to people doing intensive reading. I would have thought extensive reading wuld be a core user experience for Lingq?

Also really wanting a way to disable this.

I just noticed it too but I kind of like it. Doesn’t distract me

Please revert that change or make it optional, it adds unnecessary clutter AND breaks scrolling on lower resolution screens/larger zoom levels.
