PS:
If you’re completely new to Japanese, it’s not a good idea to start with Kanji. Instead, you should master Hiragana and Katakana first (see the LingQ links above).
And another question is: Should you start reading Japanese as an (absolute) beginner?
If your native language is far away from Japanese, it’s probably better to focus on the oral dimension and (the variation of) syntactic patterns first to get a feel for it.
