Modern Russian 1
Modern Russian 1
Modern Russian is in the public domain and the original audio is freely available for download from the Indiana University CELT website. It is a full, 2-year introductory university course in Russian language. It uses the audiolingual method of teaching. It was created in the 1960's by a grant from the US government and was used to train US diplomats / military for many years. The course is old, but it is extremely well done.
These are the "Conversations" from the beginning of each chapter, as well as the "Reading and Writing" from the end of each chapter, in Modern Russian 1. If you want to listen to Russian only, then skip the "Preparation" lessons.
The books are available for purchase from many sources, including Amazon and Barnes and Nobles.
The audio was re-recorded in the 1990's and the re-recorded audio is available for a fee from the website multilingualbooks.com. However, I used the original free audio for these LingQ lessons.
